🐾 Meet Sterling — Learning That People Can Be Pretty Wonderful 💙

Meet Sterling, an adorable 2-year-old Chihuahua who is discovering that life after the shelter can be filled with friends, freedom and people he can trust. 🥰

Sterling came to us after being surrendered to a shelter, and while we don’t know everything about his past, we do know this sweet boy is still learning that humans can be safe.

With other dogs? 🐕💕 Sterling is a fan! He loves canine companionship and seems to find confidence in having four-legged friends around,

With people, Sterling is still a little shy. He needs someone who understands that friendship doesn’t have to happen overnight. Give him the freedom to approach, explore and get comfortable at his own pace, and you’ll get to watch that trust begin to grow.

One thing Sterling would currently like humans to know:

Four paws on the ground, please! 😂🐾

He doesn’t enjoy being picked up yet—and that’s perfectly okay. We want Sterling to learn that his boundaries will be respected while he builds confidence.

Put him outside in a yard, though, and you’ll see another side of him! 🌿 He loves running around the yard, stretching those little Chihuahua legs and simply enjoying himself. Underneath that initial shyness is a happy little boy waiting to blossom.

Sterling doesn’t need someone to make him brave. He needs someone willing to give him the time, patience and choices that allow bravery to grow.
