Sally is a 1-year-old spayed female Chihuahua with a heart as soft as her white/cream coat. She and her sister Lilly have had a rough start in life, arriving at the shelter scared and unsure of everything around them. It’s nearly impossible to tell them apart, but each has her own story and sweetness.

While at the shelter, Sally was very fearful but allowed handling once she was gently caught. She never showed any signs of aggression – instead, she would tremble until she felt safe, eventually sitting quietly in the laps of the office staff for comfort. Things needed to be done slowly so she could navigate her new surroundings and unfamiliar people without becoming overwhelmed.

Now in her foster home, Sally is still coming out of her shell. She will need a very patient adopter who understands that for Sally, life must move at a turtle pace – slow, steady, and kind – so she can learn to trust and feel secure.
