Lilly is a 1-year-old spayed female Chihuahua with a heart as soft as her beautiful white/cream coat. She and her sister Sally have had a rough start in life, arriving at the shelter scared and unsure of everything around them. It’s nearly impossible to tell them apart, but each carries her own story and sweetness.

While at the shelter, Lilly was very fearful but allowed handling once she was gently caught. She never showed any signs of aggression – instead, she would tremble until she felt safe, eventually finding comfort sitting quietly in the laps of the office staff. Everything had to be done slowly to help her navigate her new surroundings and the unfamiliar people without becoming overwhelmed.

Now in her foster home, Lilly is still coming out of her shell. She will need a very patient adopter who understands that for Lilly, life moves at a turtle pace – slow, steady, and kind – so she can learn to trust and feel secure in her new home.
