Tano

Meet Tano, a one-year-old male patiently awaiting his neuter appointment in 2024. Currently under the care of Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows, Tano is undergoing rehabilitation to overcome his wariness of new people. Although he has made good strides, Tano has a unique history.

Tano found himself in quarantine at Washoe County Animal Services after a superficial bite incident. This occurred when someone pushed him past his comfort zone, and in response, Tano gave a warning bite. While it was a reaction to feeling overwhelmed, it's essential for potential adopters to understand the thresholds of a dog's fears and anxiety.

Given time, Tano shows his sweet side and may climb into a person's lap. However, it's crucial to note that Tano won't be available to adopters who can't grasp the importance of respecting his boundaries. His future home should be free of children. Vaccinated and microchipped, Tano will be available for adoption once he is neutered and ready to meet understanding and patient potential adopters who can provide him with a secure and loving environment.
