Meet Teddy — A Fluffy Little Lovebug Learning to Trust Again ❤️🐻

Teddy is a 7-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix with an irresistibly soft, fluffy coat and the sweetest eyes you’ll ever see. His young life was spent in a home with many other dogs, and when everything fell apart, Teddy suddenly found himself scared, confused, and without the comfort of the only world he’d ever known.

He was tossed into a kennel at the shelter, evaluated by strangers, and left completely abandoned. Terrified and feeling cornered, Teddy did everything he could to make the unfamiliar people leave his “room”—he barked, cowered, trembled, and retreated. In his panic, he delivered a superficial bite, a fear response from a dog who felt he had no other option.

Because of this, others passed him over.

But Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows did not.

We stepped in and brought Teddy—along with his extended family of dogs—into safety and compassion.

Now, Teddy is blossoming. He enjoys gentle pets, melts into soft hands, and is slowly realizing that humans can be kind. Day by day, his confidence grows, and that frightened boy is transforming into a happy, hopeful, snuggly companion.

Teddy will shine with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. With patience, space, and a calm environment, Teddy will reward you with unwavering love and devotion.

He is current on vaccinations and microchipped, and yes… Teddy really was his name! 🥰
