Meet Luna — A Soft, Sweet Senior Girl Ready for Her Second Chance ❤️🌙

Luna is a 10-year-old spayed female Chihuahua mix with a soft, fluffy tan coat and the kindest little heart. She spent her entire life living with many other dogs, and when her world suddenly changed, Luna found herself terrified, confused, and without the familiar comfort she had always known.

At the shelter, she was tossed into a kennel, evaluated by strangers, and totally abandoned. Feeling overwhelmed and trapped, Luna barked, cowered, trembled, and hid in the corner of her “room,” hoping the unfamiliar people would go away so she could feel safe again.

Because of that fear, others passed her by.

But Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows did not.

We stepped in and rescued Luna—along with her extended dog family—giving her the gentleness and stability she so desperately needed.

Now, Luna is slowly blossoming into a loving, affectionate gal who enjoys being petted, held, and loved on. Her sweet personality is emerging more each day as she discovers that humans can be patient, kind, and safe. She is taking small brave steps forward—and they are beautiful to witness.

She is current on vaccinations and microchipped, and ready to find a forever home where she can finally feel truly secure.
