🌟 Meet Amelia – A Little Girl With a Big Story and Even Bigger Ears! 🌟

Amelia is a 3-year-old female Chihuahua with a story to tell and a heart ready to love. She weighs just 6.5 pounds – tiny in size but huge in spirit – and her adorable ears go on forever!

Amelia came to Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows from Oakland Animal Services in October 2023. At that time, she was diagnosed with blood anemia and was on steroids to treat and monitor her condition. Under our care, her treatment continued with steroids and a 21-day course of Mycophenolate, while she was regularly monitored by our veterinarian team to keep her anemia under control.

Over time, Amelia’s bloodwork showed only mild anemia, and she was weaned off all medications. She has been off all drugs for nearly 10 months now with no symptoms or issues! This resilient little girl has proven how strong she is and is ready for the next chapter in her life.

Amelia is super sweet, loves to play, and is a big-time cuddler with the right person. She is microchipped and ready to find a very special home that will cherish her, keep up with her wellness care, and give her the love she so deeply deserves.
