Athena

Athena is a beautiful 4-year-old spayed female Chihuahua-Spaniel mix with the softest fur you can imagine—and an even softer heart. She came to us from Washoe County Regional Animal Services However, two puppies were rescued by another group. Understandably, Athena was terrified in the shelter environment, but Chihuahua Rescue stepped in to give her a second chance.

Since arriving, Athena has settled in nicely and is slowly learning to trust humans again. Her gentle spirit shines through, and while she may be shy at first, with a little time and patience, her affectionate side begins to emerge. She’s the kind of companion who will quietly curl up beside you and melt into your arms.

Athena is a no children adoption and MUST have another dog companion for confidence. Adopters MUST understand she is a special case pup and will take time to warm up to them and is frightened by commotion, loud noises and yelling. She will run and hide and you will not catch her! If you are willing to understand and help Athena, then consider her for adoption.
